Hello everyone,

I have a 1991 Infiniti Q45, just a great car with expensive repairs (so far). I live in chicago and yesterday the climate control stopped working for me, Econ, A/C and other buttons dont work, I dont even see any display on it. I have looked into fuse box underneath the driver side. those 15/20 AMP fuses looks ok. Is there anything that I need to check for? your help is greatly appreciated. I tried turning the car on/off many times *no use. I am not too technical, but knows few things.

So far I have spent 13,640 dollars for lota repairs on it.

Regards to all,Sunny

"spent 13,640 dollars for lota repairs on it." That's not a lot depending on how many miles you have driven in the period.

If less than 90,000 driving miles that is a lot depending on the condition [assuming you purchased used].

Common for the 90-93 display to fail after 7-8-9 years if yourslasted 13 years you are indeed lucky! Ebay has them ocasionally as do junkyards or you can get it repaired for $100 [if it's just the display]. Use our board search function

I've spent around $33,000 in 261,000 miles........only 12.5 cents per mile.

I have a few spares [used ones] that work email me :[email protected]

There is a post by LonAllenQ (I think ) baout where the circuit board usually fails if you are skilled enough to do an electronic diagnosis and repair. Try a search.

If not, http://www.jerytucker.net will repairthem for about $100.

And welcome to the board, armoredhurricane.

Typical failure is a bad display, but the buttons still work and everything functions normally. I'm not sure on this one. Does anything else not work?

In my case when the display is off, no buttons work. But I have fixed it yesterday, I took out the climate control and checked for any dry solderings, which I found ofcourse ! and resoldered and reverified the continuity, then went back to by car and installed it!, no wonder it worked. finally now I can get some heat driving in Chicago's cold weather. It might be the heat that has caused the solder joints to seperate from the main board?

Thank you everyone for your help!:D
