Hello,

I am hoping someone might be able to help me on this one. Just recently when at a stand still and accelerating through 1st & 2nd gear, the brake lights for the truck have been coming on near the dashboard console. After accelerating for a few seconds, the lights turn off. I dont feel anything wrong with the truck and Ive checked that the parking brake is in all the way.

Anybody know why this might be happening or have had this experience before?

Thanks
Chad

Agreed with the brake fluid level. If it is then I would recomend inspecting your brakes. Usually when the pad wears the fluid will lower so you will have the light come on.

Yep mine did that ion hard turns as the fluid moved and was low. That is why that light is there to warn of low fluid. Mone was due to brake wear so if you add some be careful when changing pads. As you push the piston back in for new pads the fluid goes back up in the top and may over flow as mine almost did. This should also tell you to check pad wear, that is a sure sign is when fluid gets low due to wear.

I checked the brake fluid level and it is still half way between min & max so I havent lost any fluid. What else could it be? The brakes were replaced no more than a year ago and I only drive to and from work - about 10 miles a day and I dont feel anything wrong in the brakes.

May be a faulty switch or the connection may be loose or oxidized. Check the connection and see if it is tight and clean. If it is not contacting fully it could do that.
