Starter failed on the 240sx. Verified on the bench with jump pack, starter is bad. Replaced with new one from local parts warehouse. Everything seems to be in order and go to start and... will not turn over. I'm thinking sweet bad unit. Pull the starter out and test on the bench with a jump pack. Works just fine. ??? I'm like sweet, multiple failure???Check the negative battery cable and positive for voltage drop and I'm getting huge drop across both. I add a cable to both positive and negative as to bypass them and still no dice. Go to pull starter 3rd time and noticed that the lug between the solenoid and starter motor is touching ever so slightly with the engine mount. Pulled starter and zipped that bad boy off there and ding it works. Didn't really see the touching b/c I was always looking @ it from an angle with no view of it.
Gar after market parts...
Just hoping someone will read this and not have the same problem I did.
