1991 240sx KA24DE 4cy dual overhead cam engine. Has a newer water pump, have put two new thermostats in it, new radiator. Tested thermostats before putting in.

Problem: Top Radiator hose never gets hot, engine heats up, temp gage gets really high. Its like hot coolant never reaches the therostat to open it up and start circulation. Is there anything else, sensor, etc that could cause this problem?

I did open the air relief plug the first time I changed the thermostat, but still not circulating after replacing the radiator.. Any help please, this car is down and am borrowing a friends vehicle till I can fix this. Thank you.

Also note: Anyone replacing the timing chain, gears etc, do not use the specs from the chilton's manual 52750. These specs are not correct, I found out the hard way. Go to wolf technology for camshaft installation instructions for ka24de for correct specs!!!!

hey, welcome to nico and thanks for that tip!

i would try bleeding the air with the bleeder screw some more. then jack up the front end and run the motor with the heat on. occasionaly you want to rev it. keep the radiator cap off the whole time.
