1991 Nissan 240sx hatchback Overheating plz help?

I drive on the streets and when im driving my car is fine its cool and then when I stop at a light or anything like that the temp gauge goes really close to the H and then once I start going again its fine can anyone help me?

I say it's your fans,since it only get hot when it's on stand still.

I had that problem on my dads ford truck it.Dont know much about cars but it ended up being the gauge that was messed up not the actual dash gauge but something else having to do with it. Maybe some one on here can tell you what it would be called but that might be it.
