1991 Nissan 1600 NX resistor pack controller Pic

Can anyone tell me where the resistor pack that controls the fan speed is located. And what it might look like. Fan speed as in the fan the runs the heater and air coming out of the vents inside the car. I took some pics of what I think is the resistor pack but not sure.

That would be the animal. Does it blow on some speeds but not the others?

It only blows when switched on the highest setting. Can you tell me why the large piece of metal behind it? It seems to block an air duct. When I turn on the switch air comes flowing out of where it was installed. Just wondering, and I assume there is some kind of printed circuit board under all the plastic.
