For context I've done a lot of deletes + bypasses (there's no longer AIV, EGR capped off, PRVR solenoid removed and bypassed, carb canister removed) I've even put a fully charged battery in as well.

Hello, I've been working on my Z32 and have gotten to the point where it is good enough to start. When I try cranking the engine, it just gives me one click and nothing else. The dash lights up, the headlights work, and even the fuel primes but it doesn't crank. I tried starting the car last year in December and it did the same thing. I've read online that it could possibly be a bad starter relay, and/or replace the starter safety switch, a fusable link near the battery, or a faulty starter motor. I'm thinking about starting with the two possibilities before deducing it's a faulty starter motor.

I'd assume I would have to replace the Starter Relay because I removed the PRVR solenoid along with the carb canister? I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before I throw any more money at this car.

Sounds like starter solenoid, clutch safety switch, or fusible link.

Hi balefire,

I am able experiencing the same issue. I just got my very first 1995 300ZX TT and it did not start up the next day I got it. after a couple of hours of troubleshooting I boiled mine down to the starter by removing the starter and tested it by connecting the battery to it and mine did nothing. Crossing my fingers though because it is due to arrive this Thursday and I will install it. I was also thinking about getting (2) new starter relays just in case for back up when I go to install the starter and (1) might be bad. Were you able to get yours started?

I did the below troubleshooting instructions I found on rock auto where I ordered my starter from. I got the Remy brand:

Battery - No Crank Condition

• Ensure the Battery is fully charged (12.6 volts) and is the correct size for the vehicle
• Use a Battery Tester to test the condition of your battery

Terminals / Cables - Slow Crank Condition

• Clean terminals with a Battery Cleaner and Battery Terminal Cleaner Tool
• Make sure all connections are tight and replace frayed / corroded Battery Cables

Flywheel / Shims - Free Spinning / Noisy Starter

• Check Flywheel and pinion for damage or wear
• Check Starter Motor Shims and Starter Bolts for proper alignment and torque

I also watched the below YouTube videos to also do some test.
