everytime i press the gas it ends up dieing out.I just bought the car from somebody who said they replaces the fuel pump and filter. and both look new.

everytime i start the car it will idle but at like 200 r.p.m, and it sputters from time to time, once i hit the gas it just dies.

anybody have an idea?

and sorry if this is in the wrong section, im a noob.

check this ecu codes by reading the tutorials in the nissan online mechanic forum. im guessing MAF problem sounds kind of like a combination of an unplugged and a non-working maf so try unplugging it and see what happens it may not idle well but it should accelerate a little better

Could be the MAF , my friend had the same problem, but his problem was he was out of gas.

check the vacuum line on the intake, near the throttle body. There should be 2 lines next to it, maybe you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Try spraying break cleaner around that area and see if the idle changes.

I got the car to idle good by changing out the tps, and i checked to see what codes the car throu and it was 34 which is the detonation sensor circuit.

we have been running the car without coolant, since we still had to get the whole cooling set up back in.we were smart about it and made sure the car didnt overheat or actually get hot at all.but now we added coolant and its doing the same thing it did before we changed out the tps.and its also throwing a code, i forgot which one but it has to do with reading temp.anybody have any ideas?maybe the thermostat?

well. the detonatiopn circuit would be a knock sensor which caUSES YOUR ECU TO RUN IN SAFE MODE ( LESS POWER, LESS ignition timing, more fuel) and the temp code is if your coolant temp sensor isnt working. the one with the red connector right where the upper rad hose connects to the intake manifold.

My 240 had a bad coolant sensor circuit, it bogged down an died then wouldnt start, hesitation around 2k. it ran fine until it got hot so not sure if thatsx your problem, and the code for that is either 13 or 33 cant remember.
