Greetings. I have future plans for my stock KA24de to have a turbo installed. But, first, I want to put in aftermarket internals. Where would be a good place to buy reliable internal parts for my pre-turbo project. Any help/suggestions are much appreicated. I am hoping to get maybe up to 180,possibly 200 horses on just replacing the internals. Would this be concievable? If not, what can I expect? Im no power freak, I want to see if I will be happy with just internals before I buy a turbo. Im working on a moderate budget, so nothing TO high-end expensive. Its going to be a daily driver for a while. Thanks for your time guys.

Internals arnt going to do sht for power, you wont get really any increase in power unless you go high comp pistons, which would blow your turbo goals away. Even then, higher comp pistons are only going to give you a tiny gain in HP. Headworks pretty much a waist unless your going for over 350 hp.

If you got forged internals for your car, you would either see a drop in HP(lower comp pistons) , or, if your engine was really worn out, its possible you might gain a little bit.

If your KA24 has good compression numbers, just boost the thing. Start saving your money for quality parts now, then when your ready you'll have a good setup that will last.

Sorry for being a n00b , just read the sticky at the top of this fourm... all I need help with is choosing the right turbo/kit for my new baby.. suggestions? I dont want a small turbo, or a huge one. Just something that would be able to get me to around 230-250 whp. nothing that has to spool up at 5000 rpm, and not one that spools up at 2000 rpm, something right in the middle is all im looking for.

If your dead set on getting a kit instead of piecing one together, look up the JGS kit. IMO its the best kit offered for our car, and its at a fair price.

Thankyou very much, would putting a larger fuel pump into my car while keeping it stock do any damage? In other words, is there any part that i should add to go with the turbo that i cannot add untill i get the turbo? (ex, injectors, fuel pump, fuel computer)

You can upgrade the exhaust and fuel pump but the pump will require an adjustable fuel pressure reg and fuel gauge. The rest should wait until you are installing the turbo.

Like Nate said...JGS FTW. Your goals are mild so use there T3/TO4E setup but specify the .48 AR exhaust housing. This will spool faster then the .63 buy about 700 rpm making a very fun daily driver and it will still support 400whp if you ever want that much power.
