1991 Infinity M30 Ignition Help Now

I have a 91 M30. I put the key in and when I turned it back it won't turn all the way. Before I would turn it back and push the button to turn it back and now the button doesn't go in. I took the cover off around the ignition and when I turn the key it turns on and when I turn it back a little red button pops outward. If I reset it the key will turn all the way back and the key will release. How do I keep the red button from popping out.
