I own a 1991 hatch with about 114K on it and in the 6 years ive owned the car its never not started for me. Yesterday in about 95 degree heat I went out to start her and i turned the key and...nothing. the battery is fine and i was getting juice to the starter and the coil, however there was no spark to the distributor. the only noise i would hear was a small click from the blue relay located on the drivers side relay panel under the hood, labeled A/C i believe.

Anyways, i left the car alone for the day and went to start her at night and she turned right over as always, same thing this morning. anyone got any advice?

BTW...im new to the forums, seems there are alot of helpful people round here, ive been on the 240 list since i first got my car,...thanks in advance to whoever got any input

also...i live in queens, anyone know a goot mechanic who can give me a decent price on a 120k timing chain job?Corey

Sounds like the typical starter solenoid starting to go out. We only see about one of these posts every week. Next time, hit the starter and solenoid with a hammer and start it. If that doesn't work, R&R the starter.

I assumed you meant the starter was working. If the starter is not turning over, you have a problem with starter. Do you have spark at the plug? (I would guess yes)

agreed with the others, the relay could be at fault possibly, but thats easy to tell (If it clicks when you turn the key)

When you turn the ignition switch to start, you should at least hear the starter solenoid click; if you don't, either the solenoid is dead or else there's a problem with the battery cabling.

Check the ignition relay located in the driver's wheel well. If that is bad the car won't do anything. Cost about $40 from Nissan and takes about 15 minutes to replace.
