Does any one Know if you can do this with little work. I have a found a great buy on a 1990 body but it has the pig nose bumber which I don't like and I want to switch it to the 1991+ bumber because I like it much better.

I'm not that mechanically sound in the car area....but I believe the swap can and is rather simple simple. The others would be able to help though (more thoroughly Im sure)

I kinda need to know if its just a quick bolt on project. I just want to switch the bumber but someone said I would have to switch the fenders as well

not being mean or anything but i just posted a reply to the same topic last week, just search for it.

But the project is pretty quick , all you really need is new turn signals, and possibly the foam bumper insert if you want it.

oops and i forgot to tell you that you also need 2 small plastic peices that go on the fender where the 1991+ meets it. this makes the new bumper sit flush

Hey, does the SR fit into the 240 with any problems or is there some work needed?

sorry to hi-jack the post, but using the search button helps a lot.

nah. its not easy at all, you need to cut the frame and tube it and widen it by 6" then you need to make some mounts and all the plumbing needs to be fab'ed up. not easy at all, but can be done.

Dont get rid of the extra stuff after you do the swap. Bomex makes some nice bumpers, and some use the 89-90 turn signals. i'd keep the pig nose as it looks kinda sporty.

I want to cut out those black plastic inserts just so I can have that much more air going into the engine.

If you do that please take pics because I was thinking of doing the same thing and was wondering how it would look.
