Noticed this evening, as pedestrians starred at me, my Z has developed a high pitched whine. It sounds similar to PS pump whine but it does not change pitch when the wheel is turned. It does however increase in pitch when you press the accelerator. The sound is coming from the front of the motor. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Good chance it's the alternator. Mine recently did the same, still charged though. Take the belt off and spin the alt by hand. You will easily be able to hear if the bearing is bad.

Could be a worn out bearing in any of your belt-driven parts (water pump, alternator, power steering pump).
