The bottom portion of that write up is how to check the O2 sensors. My bet is you have an injector that is not firing/ stuck open, which, if the fuel is dumping into the exhaust, could foul an injector.

The fuel smell is a different issue entirely, however. You have a fuel leak somewhere, and it needs to be addressed before your car catches on fire.

Watch that video.

I did what the video said and I did not smell gas after I drove it 10+ miles but I'm going to wait and see its fifty degrees outside if that might matter but thanks for the info

Awesome. :)

Something else you can check is to see if that particular spark plug is firing. If the plug is firing and the cylinder is dead, then so is the injector. Another test is to check the injector for proper resistance. Resistance at the injector should be 10-14 ohms.

Glad to know you're not gonna end up a fireball though!

Have you tried what I said with the spark plug? If the spark plug has fire and the injector doesn't, then the injector is bad. Plain and simple. No way around it. Thanks for playing. Especially on a '91, the injectors are prone to early failure due to the ethanol that they're putting in the gas nowadays.

Thank you for all your help! Seriously! I haven't done the sparkplug or the injector test :tisk: But I did go over the fuel line clamps again and found a hose that was loose. I tighten it and all the problems listed in the previous post have ceased  The car is amazing again fun to drive

Good to hear. Most likely it was actually a loose vacuum line, rather than a fuel line though. A fuel leak that bad would have been definitely noticeable. Great you got it sorted!
