Okay here is the deal.

The lady across the street from me owns a 91 300z TT. She is willing to sell it to me and me only. (She's kinda got the hots for me with her old arse)

It has under 150k on it and is in need of a new battery, and possibly an alternator. She says alt, but I say something else as it wont turn over with a new batt hooked up. So I was thinking it was the starter.

Plus the aftermarket radio has been stolen, but no damage to the car. It is in remarkable condition inside and out........

So my question is this.......... Whats a fair price in current condition???

My Second question is, Where should I start to resolve the start up problem???

The battery tried was not tried by me. So naturally I will start with the batt, but then to the starter or alt??? Its been sitting up for over a year, as she has had her current vehicle (an Xterra) for some time now, and she doesnt drive the 300.

Also, I must admit, while everything under the hood looks decent, the wiring to the battery looks like its been jerri-rigged. I will grab a pic of that and then post it here for input as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in ADVANCE!!!!

Check Out KBB Listing:

$4300 - $4900

Im thinking of taking this (The KBB.com recommendation and some local AUTO TRADER ads) to her, and offering $3500 AS IS, I will make any repairs neccessary. Only problem with that is, if there is more damage than what I think. I dont want to buy it and a turbo(s) are gone, yanno???? So maybe I will fix it, and see, and if it runs super good she can deduct the $$$$ for parts and work. Of our agreed upon price.

Its also in better condition that the "FAIR" lists on KBB, but yanno, Im trying to get a steal on this mutha - As there is little if any exterior problems and for having all black leather 13 years old, there is very little interior damage.

One down side......... Its an Auto........... I wonder if a manual swap is a big job on the 300z TT........

Any additional input????

The z32 TT's are really awesome cars!

If you can get it for $3500 to $5000 I say grab that thing up.

Good luck!;)

Hey, I just had a similar situation, I would go to edmunds.com and run the papers, print it out and take it to her, show her the 3 different prices. The pricing that edmunds offers is typically lower than kbb, but may be closer to true market value. Don't forget, z32's are notorious for needing the timing belt changed every 80k or so, so it sounds like it may be coming up again for this particular car. That should cost you around $700 -1100.

Best wishes, I hope you get the car.
