A very good 3 year stretch in IMSA nowithstanding, the 240SX never really caught on the way the Porsches and RX-7s of the era did.

Almost all aftermarket parts for the S-chassis are from Japanese companies.

Though, a ton of American parts companies sprouted up as the drifting scene got bigger here, but they never provided any innovative parts, just cheap copies.
SPLparts is the only American company that design their own parts that I can think of.

The 240sx probably never caught on in the racing scene because the S13 is a bit of a noodle, and RX-7s have better suspension.

Funny, I would call the 240SX's multi-link rear superior to the trailing arm on the FC, at least.

The multi-link is pretty good, but the front has a McPherson strut setup while the RX-7 had double wishbone.
Did the FD have a trailing arm setup too?

The S13's rear suspension also has a lot of anti-squat, but that was changed in the later S14 and S15 models.

The FC's front end was MacPherson, semi-trailing in the rear.
The FD had double a-arms all around. But it's a whole different class of car from the S13.

The amount of legitimate discussion and knowledge in this thread is actually quite surprising.
