Hey guys, im having some problems with my transmission/clutch. I was driving the car and put it into neutral and almost came to a complete stop when i heard a pop and jerked the car foward, the shifter was stuck in the middle.

I looked under the car and this is what i found, there is an arm that sticks out of the transmission which sits agains the slave cylinder pin. that metal looking fork is loose. My question is does the transmission have to come off in order to get that fixed. any other way of taking care of this. and why would this happen.

Please help me out my car its not moving at all thanks alot.

Here its a pic for u guys

Yes it can be done, now if your shaft(for holding the throw out bearing) was moved then I would think (dont qoute me) it would needed to be removed. Now if you have the shaft and everything that came out from the slave its not hard to put it back in. Just release the pressure thats still in there, or else your not going to be able to stick back in the rod. But in that case i say just go down to your local auto parts store and buy another slave, should only cost about 10 bucks, very easy to be put in. Also make sure you bleed the system before starting up the car and enganging it into a gear. Its easier to bleed then the brakes, also if you have that boot that goes over the long shaft(holding the throw out bearing) put that back on for sure you dont want any rocks or dust getting into your clutch etc..-Ricky
