I had my flywheel resurfaced as part of my engine rebuild. In putting everything back together and checking all specs the flywheel has too much runout axially. FSM says >.006", I'm seeing .010" - .011".I don't want to take it back to the same dumb***, but everyone else is a long ways away. My guess is he used the back side of the flywheel as a reference surface, instead of the crank mating face.

What will happen if I run like this? I'm guessing bad clutch engagement, premature flywheel/pressure plate wear, spline shaft wear, maybe vibration (transmitted to crankshaft and main shaft).

Opinions?

Well, you can only machine a flywheel so far until it's too thin to use. If you don't want to get it done again or can't buy a new one from one of our sponsors. My motto is "Upgrade, Upgrade, Upgrade!"

That's the runout on the clutch surface??? I'd probably just run it if it's a stock clutch on a stock engine. I doubt they're a lot closer than that the majority of the time. Up to you though.
