1991 240sx please help

I know basically nothing about cars, so any help or advice anyone can give is greatly appriciated.Today my check engine light came on, the idle dropped really low (so much that me car dies whenever the car isn't in gear and my foot is not on the gas), and the car is shaking and making a bad pudding noise. Just seeing if there are any ideas of what could be wrong.

I'm having the exact same problems and I also have a 91 240sx. All problems are the same except I also have an overheating problem. One of my friends is gonna take a look at it today. I'll post back some info, hopefully it'll help you a bit.

You can have the code pulled from the ecm to find out what curcuit the problem is in. This could be a injector leak, a spark plug or plug wire, or even a bad connection at the injectors or coolant temp sensor. This might be a job for the repair shop.

i have no idea what your exact problem might be, but i always start cheap, and then get the professional opinion that costs money. fuel injector cleaner, spark plugs, and spark plug wires are the first things i change, if its been a while you might as well do it anyway, good luck.

Could it be that the MAFS has gone bad?
