Earlier today, I was lowering my passenger side window and I heard this clunk sound, by the time i looked my window had dropped, and I heard another thud of it falling. The window is intact.

I've searched and i found 3 threads, which simply say the window probably just came off the track, someone who needed a window regulator (the cable broke).

Now... My window seems to be on track, I can raise it by hand and it goes smoothly. And the cable seems to be in one piece. And so is the prediciment. The interesting thing is, The motor seems to spin just fine, and the cable moves when I manually pull the window up. But when i push the up button on the power, the motor spins and the cable doesn't move. I have really no clue how to get at this stuff. Also, there are a few little metal brackets w/ screws that are in there REALLY friggin tight, I can't seem to loosen them up to get a good look at anything w/o stripping them.

Any help would be greatly apprecciated.

The rubber insulator in the motor has torn. This insulator is between the motor drive shaft and the regulator cable drive.Its integral to the motor itself. replace the motor. To get the 3 screws off you are talking about you need to use a #3 tip phillips screw driver. push down on it hard as you loosen the screw. It will snap free. Do not use a #2 phillips or you WILL strip it out.

I was wondering since a lot of nissans share similar parts, does the 300zx, old or new, have the same power window motor as the 240sx? I have complete uncharged access to parts on an 88... ish... 300.

Ahoy, again. Since I had the original problem I just rigged the window to stay up til I had some time to pull that shiz. Anyway, I removed everything today and it turns out the motor itself is perfectly fine, it spins nicely.

HoweverThis gear is what seems to be broken. It just kinda wobbles around and spins freely without the cable moving what-so-ever. Also, this thing seems to be caged in there very tightly via rivets. I'm not sure if any of this is even meant to come apart.

My questions here if you so chose to help me (please do );

Is there some way I can fix this gear? How?If not what is this called exactly? Part number?Do you think some parts yards would have this? How much $?

If you can help me out it would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Holy eff, "WINDOW REGULATOR, 240SX, Right 91-93 $164.90 $126.56"

Thank you, at least I know what that thing is called now. I guess I'll keep tryin' my luck with the yards and the classifieds.

BTW do all years have the same Window Regulator (89-98)?
