ok, i just bought a 91 S13 with 146k miles on it. this is my first nissan, so im alittle new to this scene, forgive me. the water pump just recently blew, so i had that fixed. But after it got fixed, it still would come very close to over heatin. i also noticed sometimes when im drivin in traffic it will heat up more than if i was crusin over 50 mph. im thinkin it could be a bad fan clutch, or maybe a thermostat (im installin one tomorrow). im not sure which one it is, or if its something more. thanks alot

this happened to me. you may still have air in your lines. when your car is warm squeese your upper radiator hose if its east to squeeze than you probably have air in your system, therefore u cant get your flow. there is a bleeder valve on the block, right next to the upper radiator hose.loosen that a lil and let the air bleed off. let it cool, refill the coolant and repeat. be careful not to let the air back in the system. good luck.
