Ok this happened to me two days ago. It turned out to be the wires that connect to the mass air flow sensor. The little clip was broken, and the connection was loose and corroded. A bad signal from the mass air will cause all sorts of issues like that. Check that connection first, and if its corroded clean it with some electronics cleaner or non-chlorinated brake part cleaner, and put it back on with some dielectric grease. Also take the opportunity to clean the sensors on the MAF with the cleaner. Be careful not to touch the sensors tho, but you'll want to make sure there are no dirt deposits on them. Cost - $5 at Auto Zone. My cars now running better than it has since i got it.
