1991 240sx : head gasket replacement?

sup im new to the site i just wanted to introduce myself my name is tony...anyways i just bought a 91 240 for a thousand bucks....it came with rims and a lil kit...but only problem is it has a blown headgasket...i was curious how much dose the gasket cost? and is there a write up on the forums that tells you how to change a headgasket?

any help would be appreciated

A head gasket won't cost you that much, only about 20 bucks. And I don't know about a write up.

Head gasket can be a pain in the ***, but if you're mechanically inclined at all it shouldn't be too bad.

Leave the intake manifold connected to the head when you pull it off, disconnect the exhaust manifold, remove the valve cover and loosen the head bolts. I'm pretty sure there is a torque order to loosening so you don't warp it but I'm not sure.

the factory service tells u exactly how to change the head gasket.. u can download a copy of the factory service manual at http://www.zeroyon.com/index/content/view/24/47/ ... the EM section tells u exactly how to change the HG

Welcome to nico.

I am with the last poster , follow the service manual procedure. pay close attention to chain info and head torque specs those are the most important parts of the job to get right.
