Hello all,

I'll try to explain my problem as briefly as I can. While driving my 91 240sx DOHC I noticed the engine was knocking. When I got home I saw the crankshaft pulley bolt was loose. I tightened the bolt using my impact wrench and then started the car. Still has a loud knocking sound. The knocking is coming from the bottom of the motor. I can't really pinpoint it. I tried hand cranking the motor and it feels as though something came loose internally. Hopefully this make sense. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

well, installing the pulley with an impact wrench was a mistake. Is there a lot of play if you were to turn the Cranckshaft back and forth? If so, you probably snapped a guide or something.

There is also a good chance a bearing has spun. That would be my 1st guess.
