I have a 1991 240sx. I don't know the engine code, but could certainly find out. I need a replacement ECU. Do I need specifics, does the number on the original help? Thanks for any help.

You need to know is whether or not its Dohc or Sohc. You need an OBD1 Ecu for whatever transmission type you have. Obd1 is from 89 to early model 95's.

worst title for a thread ever.

pull codes unless you're sure you need a new ecu. if that's the case, go find a dohc ecu unless someone put a different motor in there.

I had water leaking into the car for years, corrosion issues I'm sure.

yeah there are alot of 40's with water leaking issues. You're not alone on that one. Yeah it's one thing to get a replacement ecu but to have it go bad on you again. Do you have a sunroof by any chance?
