My car lets out blue smoke when I Push it. It only happens briefly it lets out a cloud of smoke. Today my friend was driving behind me and he sed it was blue smoke which he mentioned could mean a blown gasket, but Im not sure, and that's why I'm here. I would like your help and advice on diagnosing this problem.

Have you smelled it? I'm gonna let the techs come in and give you advice on smelling it as I don't want to be responsible for that. But from my experiences as a former service writer seeing the techs diagnose these problems, most of the time blue smoke indicates burning oil, white smoke indicates a possible head gasket or injector leak.

First make sure it isn't just puffs of carbon coming out. There are so many silly people in this world who think that flooring the gas pedal is bad for a car it makes me sick. If the previous owner didn't ever like to push the engine, seeing puffs of carbon coming out the exhaust when you floor it is commonplace.

If it is burning oil (as blue smoke does suggest), I'd start with a compression test.

quick puffs of smoke when you hammer the throttle when on decel typically indicates worn valve guides/seals.
