1 st off... sorry for the repost, this is posted in RWD SR as well. But I was not getting any help so I am posting here. Ok so heres the deal. last summer I put a SPEC stage 2 clutch in my car I ran it for about 500 miles. Late last summer I slid off the road in wet condidtions and smashed up my intercooler and various other front end stuff. So my car has been sitting in my garage untill now. Last weekend I got her running again. The only things that I worked on were the intercooler, turbo lines and some ignition wiring. So I go to take it for a ride, hop in and go to put it in gear and it wont go. I shut it off and put it in reverse and turn the key (foot on the clutch) and she bucks backwards. Like the clutch is shot. So I had my brother push the clutch and I looked at the slave cylinder and everything seems to be working fine. I even tried the pedal adjustment but to no avail. Any other ideas before I go and rip the transmission out?? please help me SOON!!!

I'm probably not gonna be able to help much, but this is immediately what I see:

So it's been sitting almost a year... gas is probably separated by now and causing all sorts of weird problems maybe? and maybe the oil is eeww now, too?

Just a thought, and those things are easier to check than ripping out the transmission .

Good luck

Im thinking that it wouldnt have anything to do with the gas, it had stabil in it and it starts and runs fine. I guess it could be gear oil but I doubt it I may try that though any other advice would be great!!!

Ok to be a D*** to begin my post.

Perhaps your not getting any good answers due to your approach. First off, No proper identification of your problem in your thread title will likely cause your thread to be bypassed with out being read. Try following NOM forum guidlines posted at the top of the forum as a STICKY.Thats what the hell they are there for. For us to help you get help.Secondly switching to all caps as if to be angry because no one is helping you is another bad netiquitte.

Work on your approach sunshine.

Now to help you out try reaching up and grabing the shift fork in which the slave cylinder pushes against. You should not be able to move it up and down in the opening. It should only have very slight movement forward and back. If it feels like a loose whore on the vegas strip its likely broken the pivot stud ball off. You would need to remove the trans to fix it.

In response to this...I had posted the same thing elsewhere with a vivid title and got no response therefore I moved the post here. with a crappy title. And as for posting in all caps was purly a mistake, I didnt notice that caps was on untill after I posted. I can edit the post and make it all small if it would make you feel better...lolNow the issue at hand isnt my etiquette, its my clutch and I will definetly check out the fork. I think I tried to wiggle it when I was under there checking the slave cylinder operation but I cant remember. So I will try that as well. What would be the next step if its not that? oh yeah.... I will ammend my post title to make it a little more clear

Dude you just dont get it. Read the sticky on how to post. This makes it easier to search for crap. "Need help" will bring back about 1,253,563,234 results. I dont even know why I give a S*** but "help me" is getting to the point of stupidity. Everyone here is seeking help. I dont frequent other forums or even look at engine forums. So when you switch forums its a whole new world. Different people different attitudes, tonight mine has become rather sour.

If your slave cyl is moving more then an inch or so then its either your fork or your pressure plate.Simple clutch operation failure.

The clutch is brand new so I doubt it would be the pressure plate as that is new as well Im guessing that its the fork. Do you know where I can get a new one for the sr20det transmission? is it the same as the KA and you are a moderator so if you would like to change the title of my post please do so

I dont know for sure if it is the same fork or not. in the 11+ yrs I have been working for nissan dealers I have yet to see an SRDET roll into the service dept. I have heard the trans is very similar if not the same on that setup through these boards. A quick read through some of the swap threads may answer your question.

To properly edit your thread title I would need to know the year of your car.

No need to appoligize. Its just frustrating trying to post information to make it easier for everyone else including newbies to find what their looking for. Then to have the same old posting methods being used as if to completely ignore the stickied information. Just try to use some of the sticky information in the various forums in the future. It helps everyone including yourself.
