1991 240 rough idle and sluggish

Ok here's the deal. about 2 weeks ago my 240 started idling rough and was lacking a lot of power. I started it up every day after work for a week to see if I could figure out what was wrong with it. I had no time to check it out so I left it sit for a while and drove my truck around. My wife and I went to Iowa for thanksgiving, came back, and it's been running fine ever since. .....I'm confused.
