I just replaced my steering wheel on my 90 with a restiched one. Transfered everything over and though it was okay. Now the horn and the cruise don't work. Searched for a result and found most of the issues where around the clock spring and all were for 91-96 with air bags. I don't have air bags though and seeing as everything came off with minimal effort I am unsure as to what happened. In the attached pic do these contacts from the steering column have to make contact with the rings on the back of the wheel?
Mine are about a 1/4" gap. The wheel is on as far as it will go though. Is it possible these got tucked up and should be telescoped out from the wheel to make contact or do you think it is broken? Need a puller to get the wheet off as it went on tight. Just does not seem broken and it is likely the only thing supplying power to the horn and cruise. Sorry if the question seems basic. First time wheel puller...
