I have a 1990 240sx. It already has AC in the car . I just got a sr20det. I am going to do the full swap. BUt I have herd that the AC might be a problem inthe 1989-1990? Has anyone done the ac on there swap or have any links with pics? It is for the 1990 S13.

It's been a long while since I've dealt with A/C swaps on a 240, but if I remember correctly, you can put a DOHC compressor in your car and not have to redo your compressor lines. You'll only have 3 of the 4 bolts holding the compressor in place with that route though. Using an SR compressor would require you to have a shop fab up lines for you as the compressors use different threading for the hard lines.

That was a total trip down memory lane for me, but it has some good info in it.

I have done it on a 1992. It lines up with the redtop ac bracket. But this time I am going to try a 1990. And from what I herd is that I will have to make my own bracket and line it up. If you know anyone who has done it for the 1989-90 let me know how they set it up..I searched but did not find anything.

Well you are right if you the KA24E compressor will need a custom bracket.Sorry but I have never had anyone that worried about A/C so never had to make one.

I make and sell a/c bracket conversions for every SR swap you can think of, except those that utilize a SOHC chassis.

If you're interested, check my Group Buy on Zilvia, or email me :D

Oh, and FWIW: For your setup, it would cost you 70 shipped without a belt, and 80 with a belt :D
