In 1990 my wife and I decided that she needed a new car. We drove to the local Nissan dealer. I asked her what she wanted, a 2 or 4 door car, Her reply was "a 4 door so that I can take my friends to lunch, and pick up the kids when thet are too lazy to walk home from school." We went to "Harbor Nissan" in South Gate CA. We got out of the car and I asked her what color car she wanted. "Red" was the answer. "2 or 4 door" was the next question, "4 door, so that my friends and our kids can jump in when it's raining" was the answer. Well there were at least 4 cars that were Red and 4 door in our line of sight, so which one should we look at? My wife pointed to 1 of the 4 available! "Why" I asked? "Because it was made in Yokohama, not Tenessee!" was her asnswer. WTF? I went over and looked at the VIN plates. She was absolutely right? "How did you know?" was my next question. "It had a really good paint job!" was her answer. And she was right! The Tenessee products had vestigal "Orange peel" marks" to say the least and the Yokohama example was perfect! And this was from 20 feet away! Little things do make a difference, even from 20 feet away!
