I have a 90 Q and the trans is going out, my question is, will and other year trans work. Also, i was thinking of doing a motor/trans swap for a VK with auto shift. Please tell me whats possible or am I wasting my time and should just get a trans...

The 90-93 had the same transmissions. The 94-96 have slightly different gearing. A far more ambitious swap is to a m/t - member Elwesso had done it. No idea on the later transmission that was mated to the VK. For the most part changing from the VH to VK engine is a downgrade. Long term reliability and build quailty appear to have been sacrificed for a bit more power.

Yup. The VH45 can easily exceed the VK45's power and torque output with nothing more than bolt-on mods.

THAT is the catch. Unfortunately the aftermarket isn't any better for the VK than the VH.

Great article by Wes on how to make the G50 more awesome.http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=359512
