Is it possible to put a 300zx trans in a 1990 Q...I found this on another website.

Automatic transmissions

RE4R03A 4-speed: Z32 300ZX turbo, Q45 1990-2001 (VH45)
RE4R01A 4-speed: Z32 300ZX NA, 240SX

If the bell housing from the 300ZXTT (Twin Turbo) is a problem you can remove it and use the Q45's bell housing, So possibly.

The 300zx tt automatic was rarer than manual and used the same RE40R03A as the 90-96Q45.

The non turbo 300zx used the weaker J30 unit RE4R001A. [all AT/MT are rated in torque handling capacity to provide decent life].

A RE4R03A installed in a non turbo 300zx would provide superior life vs the weaker unit.

The transmission is the easy part it's changing the shifter, ecu, installing clutch pedal, chabg brake pedal and the fit and finish that are the problems in any auto to manual conversion.
