How much do they increse wind noise at speed? I think it would crive me batty, not to mention the increase of width of the A pillar looking forward.

Hey Rex, is the "Pesident" the decontented model for the hoi polloi? ;)

I remember the mention of "Japanese Luxury" in the ads and articles upon the introduction of the 90 Q. Being devoid of any wood in the interior didn't really trouble me, but not having a traditional grille, at first did. I confess that had I been able to purchase one at the time, my intentions would have been to cut in a M30/90-92 Stanza style horiziontal grille with the M30's Infiniti emblem, add lower fog lamps, color match the door handles, and of course get rid of the gray piepans for probably something from the OZ/MSW/Fittipaldi guys. Ok, I'll go ahead and admit it, chrome semi deep dish Florenstars (Hammers). Hell it was 1990. The belt buckle emblem eventually grew on me, especially after seeing quite a few Ques with mesh style wheels from BBS, ACT or OZ/MSW/Fitti. Being a "Nissan Guy" I was not anti LS400 but felt that (especially after driving one) the Q should have been wildly successful in spite of its at the time avantgarde appearance. And then in the spring of 93 after finally being in love with the looks of the 90-93, the 1994 Q45 was introduced and it was instant love. However, I cant help but to wonder how successful the Q45 might have been if it were introduced to the US market with the President's Lincoln Town Car esque vertical bar grille, wood trim and BBS wheels as standard equipment. It seems that Japanese Royalty (except for the leather seat thing) liked American style luxury.

Well im thinking that becuase they are designed the by the engineers that also designed the car that the wind noise will not be an issue, and for the view that should not be a problem. Also talked with the person I purchased these from via email from japan who says he loves em and has them on his Q.

Ah, so they are not installed yet? Please let us know how they work once they are. I would think aerdynamics are the same for every engineer.

Gotta say you're talking over my head at this point, never took any foreign languages, should have :(.

I posted the pic, cause it's a good looking car (save the rims, eh) and I wonder why the 90 Pres had a grill, but the 90 US Q didn't?

I could dig through the reviews on Q45.org, and find the quotes from the original engineers. They wanted to buck the trends. They did, and they didn't get much love for it.

The later presidents had connolly leather. President wood trim is gorgeous.

They took a chance, and were not rewarded.

The LS got all the love

President was meant to be a Japanese RR style knock off.

hoi polloi => common folk => peasants => "Pesident" Get it?

I can see the advertisments now, "Step up ladies and gentlemen and get your brand new Pesident automobile, luxury and style at a price you can afford! You don't need money, just a little bit a month!"

Might work better in rural China.

Execs needed something to cruise in. Save 20 or 30k off of a mercedes, and keep it domestic.

Japan does that with just about everything. The restaurant you eat it, the seat you sit in, was mostly like owned and built by the corporation you bought your tv from.
