1990 Nissan Pathfinder... Possible Purchase, advice? tips?

Hey guys,

This is my first time in the Pathfinder part of these forums since I usually hang around the Altima section. Anyways, Im looking at a 1990 Pathfinder and was wondering what you would all suggest to look at when test driving it, etc. for the common problems and common problem areas to see what kind of condition this thing is in.

I also noticed that the V6 is really underpowered and if I did purchase it, what mods would you recommend to start with to gain some power? Im not looking for something extreme, just some basic power increases. This would more then likely become my daily driver so reliability comes into play, how reliable are these pathys? and what kind of problems can I expect or look out for in the long run?

I don't know the mileage on it, wish I did which would probably help out in answering these questions but lets assume its around 200,000KM (might be higher, might be lower... will double check)

Welcome to NICO!! . . . or more specifically, welcome to the Pathy forum. I'm not as well-versed on the WD21, but it's my understanding (as with anything) that you should check for rust. Crawl under the thing before you purchase and make sure it's cancer-free

Hey thanks for the rust advice, the main reason why Im interested in this vehicle specificaly is because all the rust has been removed/taken care of properly so it will be very very clean.

Well that's pretty much all I had for ya I'm hoping some more of the WD21 crew will jump in on this. I LOVE the original Pathfinder. . always wanted one. I wish they'd just start building that again.
