Hey , well I'm stuck currently on what I have to do to fix my Z. Just to note the exhaust is bent up and pretty much off, that explains noise and raspiness, my battery is bad I got it checked at Autozone, I've been told by one person that I might need an alternator. My revs keep dropping lower and lower the longer I have it idle.

(part 1)

(part 2)
(part 2)

Please, if there's anything that it could be please help!

Thanks, Sam

Mine was doing the same thing. The alternator was covered in power steering fluid, and was totally fried.

If the alternator is covered with ps fluid then your alt is definitely fried- this is a common problem for our cars. Be sure to tighten the clamps on the ps reservoir hoses after replacing your alternator, or replace those as well if they are bad.

Someone had a "fix" for the PS fluid on alternator problem. Basically they put in a shield so the fluid didn't drip on the alternator. I'll see if I can find the page that had the fix.
