Title says it all. The power steering in my 240sx is very... powerful. I can steer the car with simply two fingers. On my older 89, the steering was a little more "rugged" requiring a few more fingers to steer the car. As a result, there is little feedback and I feel an [emotional] distancing between me and the road. I'd like to tighten it down, if possible, allowing the need for a little more effort to turn the wheel.
A little more elaboration: The wheel doesn't have much play in it, it's merely easy to steer. The car was also just aligned, so it's not that.
I posted about this on the 240sx tech page (figured it was wiser to post here since this really isn't a mod question) and got some good responses. Notably, I'm told there is a tensioner of sorts below the driver's side on the steering rack. Unfortunately, I don't have the Nissan Technical manual to find it (I've got the Chilton's one). Since I've never worked on anything like the steering, I'd like to get it right the first time.
Can someone support this insight, yes this is the way to go or no? If so, can a more precise definition of its location be given, a technical drawing or picture?
Thanks guys!
