Just picked up a '90 300zx with 25k miles and am considering some bolt ons, but from looking around the forums I see a lot of comments that bolt ons just don't really do anything for the car. By bolt ons, I mean perhaps a pop charger with a cat back exhaust. After looking at the comments online, I am thinking that perhaps some oem replacement K&N filters kept clean and making sure the fuel filters are all clear of sediment would be the most I could hope for. Any comments from those experienced with the car appreciated.
Thanks.

IMHO, if you're after big power, upgrading the N/A isn't worth it. You're most likely going to end up spending $2000 - $3000 on all of the cost efficient engine mods, and you're only going to gain at most 40 RWHP. But, if you're after car that's fun and very responsive, then upgrading the N/A is definitely worth it.

the catback and intake are a good idea. even if you swap one day for a tt you can still use these parts

Catback and intake are worth it IMO. It gives you some more responsiveness, a little bit of performance, and it really makes that engine sound beautiful. Choose a good exhaust and you will get tons of compliments - the Labree exhaust that came on my car sounds great and lots of people tell me that...I'm just glad I didn't have to buy it!!!! Not cheap.

Other than that, flywheel and clutch would be worthwhile, then just work on the suspension/wheels.

That's my take on my car, anyways lol.
