I apologize for having my first post on the forum be for help, but I find myself at a loss, being an individual that is not mechanically savvy when it comes to cars.
The story: A coworker of mine moved back to his home state and had a newer ride, so he left his 300 here in southern California with no plans for it, expecting it to be towed and scrapped eventually. When I heard about this I got in contact with him and he told me I could just have it, because he didn't care about it and it had problems that he didn't want to bother with even if he did. I went and checked it out and I can see why.
Before he got his new car, him and another one of my coworkers did a number on it before they just left it in the parking lot. Things in the engine are unplugged and seemingly missing, the dash is stripped along with the glove box, to me it seems like a mess.
Apparently, the initial issue was a short, causing one of the starting fuses to blow when the car attempted to start. After inspecting it a little a friend of mine and myself noticed that what seems to be part of the front suspension is also busted; no longer welded into place, the front bumper is cracked, and its been sitting for at least 8 months.
After calling some of the local shops and getting the same response ("We don't like working on electrical stuff.") I've settled into the thought that its my responsibility to do the work to get the car running, or scrap it/part out.
Looking at this thing, I seriously don't know where to start. Am I in over my head? Will this be a good learning experience or just a huge headache? Should I just keep looking until I find a shop that is willing to put everything in its place and shovel out the cash for it?

Sorry for the bad phone camera pictures, but its all I have at the moment.
Thank you very much for your time!
~Terry
