The TPS has 3 wires coming out of the top. And there is a plug with 2 or 3 wires which faces the firewall. My car only has 2 wires. What do those wires do to the TPS?

Here is the photo Where it says 2 wire plug---I have 2 yellow wires and a green that I don't use.

Is this plug just for high rpm changes to the TPS?

yeah that green wire is the ground for the tps/idle switch. you might even be throwing a code (43?) indicating tps error or something like that. If not, I bet your idle is all weird.

looks like someone got happy with knife on your harness.

I have one green and two yellow wires. I have a CEL the first 4 minutes after starting then it goes off.

So I'll just ground the green wire?

The last time I checked the CEL gave a code for the TPS sensor. That must be the ground problem

I wired the green/black wire to ground and now my CEL is always on.
