I don't have a wiring diagram for the 1990 hardbody truck with 2.4 engine. Are the two wire bundles with the yellow clips shown, wires for clock and tach or what? They were hanging loose when I removed the dash cluster to change light bulbs.

Is there an on-line wiring diagram posted here or somewhere that I can pull up and view?

Thanks,
Huey

I was about to put my dash back togeather when I saw your post. Those 2 plugs plug in side by side on my truck right behind the tach, so I would think you are right about that. Not sure if they are both tach related or just 1. I don't see where they would plug in on your cluster, so I'm guessing you are one of the lucky majority that doesn't have a real tach. As far as the wiring diag. goes, I could send you the ones in the haynes manual, but they are garbage, incomplete, and just plain wrong half the time.

Thanks for info. I went to the library and checked out a couple of Chilton manuals that have wiring diagrams in them. I'll have to scan them and try to enlarge the things, as my vision isn't good enough to really tell much on some of the pages. The actual dash panel shown in the Chiltons is garbage and not what I have in my truck, even though it is a truck manual. I was hoping to see the bulbs and such, but nothing really listed as to dash bulb replacment. I'll have to review the Chiltons closer though.

That is a tachometer and clock wiring. One is for the tach and one is for the clock. I could not figure out how to get the tach to work even though I found a tach at the junkyard. The clock in it worked great though, so what I did was cut a square in the blank face so the clock will show through it and took out the tach. I figured it would be better to have an aftermarket tach in the future someday than try and figure out the wiring to get the tach to work, if that make sense. So with the clock hooked up, the tach plug is left dangling. They only thing I could figure out is the 4WD models had different bundles connecting to the coil, so I think that is why the tach doesn't hook up properly. I hope that helps, but I know for a fact that the wire bundle is for the tach and clock.

Thanks, I appreciate the information on the wires. I fixed my lighting in the dash cluster and simply returned the loose wires back to where they were. Tach and clock are not all that important to me for a beater truck like this one is destined to be.

I may simply get a picture that is made to the size of the tach face (undetermined of what the pic would be of though) and cut it out to go where the tach face is located on the dash cluster.

Again, thanks for the reply and info.
