I just left a Gold Shield shop where the guy told me I must know the Production month of my engine to get the correct injectors.· 1990 240SX (Production Range Fr:01-00-89 To:02-00-89)· 1990 240SX (Production Range To:06-30-90)And there is another Range from 7-1-90 to some other date.

And he said that Cylinders #1 & #4 take different injectors than #2 & #3. He said that the engine must have the exact injectors because of their calibration. Some have orange marks, and others have different colors.

Why does this matter? Is it just for NOx?

BAR said it isn't relevant on a 19year old engine. They never heard of matching injectors to the engine production month.

If they would have changed the CAT I would have passed.....but the smog tech insisted on calibrating the injectors which did nothing. And complaining about not enough backpressure to work the EGR properly.
