I have a 1990 D21 5spd with the 2.4 2WD. I recently had the clutch and master cylinder replaced but a shop that left alot to be desired in satisfaction. It ran great for 5 days. Then the clutch stopped working. And to make matters worse it won't start. I was able to "pop start" it just to get it home. I have bled the master cylinder and also the line to the gearbox. Acc turns on fuel pump works fine but it will not crank. Need advice ASAP!

Take it back in to that shop, duh.

But a few things first, how can you drive it home with the clutch not working? The clutch obviously works if you can move it, even if only in one gear. That would either be a pressure plate or transmission issue instead.
As far as it not starting, again, not a clutch issue. That's something to do with the starter motor.

Either way, I would still take it back as all those things could have happened because they had to remove all those parts to get to the clutch.

Ok I figured out the ignition issue. That is resolved. When it first starts up it won't go into gear. Rev it a bit and then it seems to work. Also the clutch has little or no pressure, pump it up and it works. No leaking is visible

Bad slave? Also, maybe the shift fork isn't on the pivot or the pivot is broken now. Also, check the rubber lines to make sure they aren't ballooning out when the clutch is being pressed in...

Really, these are all just guesses. I would check everything out with the shop, personally. Why are you avoiding them? You're wasting time when you can just have them deal with it.

The had the truck four times and have still failed to get the job done. As such I am no longer interested in dealing with more buffonery. I am cutting my losses on the shop plain and simple. I will take a look at the shift fork. Thanks for the help.

Sure, if it were me I would consider getting legal action to get my money back. I hope anyone else who has an idea would chime in.

So it after replacing the slave and the clutch master cylinder (again) the clutch is working. But now the brake lights won't disengage regardless of pedal position. Its always something.
