ABS light on. Looks like i got a leak from the pump. Probably from sitting over winter. Trade for a used? I dont have one... they are expensive. Who has replaced one?

I replaced the leaking original ABS unit on my '90 with a wrecking yard unit that doesn't leak...yet.

I don't think leaking alone will cause the ABS light to be on. I would check the relay under the box.

If you find a good source, please let us know - I need one too. :frown:

The paint underneath the unit was bubbling up. It wasn't related to the abs unit age. Road wear. Splash ups idk. . Last unit I replaced caused the paint to start removing itself from the mounting unit. I have been storing this Q45 in a heated garage. All of the rubber window housings have become plyable again. No more air leaks when i drive it. As im out here on the east coast everything gets ruined. Quick. So I replaced the driveshaft last year. As the vibration was unbearable. But its back. Im running 4 new tires. New rotors and pads.

So. I made a mistake. I jumped to a conclusion that the abs unit had failed. And found a used one at a ridiculous ly cheap price... for atleast we see on these cars. Replaced abs unit. Still the light was there. 2 stuck calipers from sitting all year. Among other things... have yall ever bled an abs unit on this car? Wow

The paint underneath the abs unit is starting to bubble up. The unit has been leaking for years. Thats why I see a brake light every few months for lack of fluid. Unit replaced. Damn thats a tough fix. When you pull the entire unit out it looks like a chainsaw. Btw. The 1990-93 I unit is obsolete. The 94-96 is the only part searchable
