1990 300zx white smoke?
drove my 300 today for about 10 minutes when i came back home i smelled something wierd.poped the hood and white smoke was coming from the bottom passanger side and the drivers bottom side.I had just resealed both cam covers with rtv ultra grey 2 weeks ago.i got a flash kight and a small mirror and started looking at the passenger side all around the cam cover and i spotted no oil leaks moved onto the driver side and no visible oil leaks?? Idid see oil from the old oil leaks but they dont look fresh .could the old oil on the engine cause this white smoke comeing from the sides of the engine?also my engine gets preety hot to the touch but temp stays normal?just put in a new thermostat 2 months ago even the radiater and the radiater hoses get to hot to touch?Ie also have noticed white smoke coming from the exhaust that evaporates quickly touched the inside of the muffler and there was a little amount of water in there?When i rev the engine in neutral white smoke stops but as soon as i stop reving a litle cloud of white comes out exhaust that evaporates quicckly,when its windy and white smoke is coming out the exhaust the wind sometimes blows the smoke onto the paint and it leaves a wet mark like moisture thanks

How is your coolant level? Has it gone down? There are a bunch of coolant lines running under the intake plenum and at the back of the motor that can leak onto the hot exhaust causing steam and a sweet smell.
Just to clarify; Does the smoke comes from the exhaust, does it come from the engine bay or does it come from out of the bottom of the car?

coolant level is fine the white smoke comes from the middle of the engine under the bottom cam covers ,frim the back of the timing belt covers?robomatic12 wrote:How is your coolant level?
