Can anyone tell me why the timing on my car will not hold constant? if the (NEW) camshaft position sensor (cps) is adjusted it will run perfect for a day then for some unknown reason the engine rpm drops and the car runs poorly. the cps can be loosened and adjusted again and the rpm's come back the car runs perfect again for a few hours then starts acting up again. any help is appreciated.

have you checked the rest of the igniton system? i also believe there was a recall or bulletin for that problem. try calling a nissan dealer with your vin number and see if you have any open recalls.
