I've had a clunk coming from the rear end of my Z for awhile, getting worse. I finally pinned it down I think to the differential. The drivers side flange moves about quite a bit. Probably close to 1/8" of wobble. I tried junkyards & both of those had similar issues. I bought & installed the best unit I could find & now have opened up my old one.The main bearings are fine, the wobble seems to come from the limited slip unit wobbling around inside. I've looked in the manual & it doesn't give any specs for the pinion gears & limited slip. The only thng keeping everything in line is 2 thrust washers & they look fine.

Anyone know the specs, or have some insight into the Nissan limited slip rear end?

Just doesn't seem right for that flange to wobble about like that?

thanks!Lee

does the new one have the same clunk to it? I have seen the mounts go weak on the diffs causing them to cluck on accel.

The thrust washers I believe come in different thicknesses.

Diff mounts are brand new Energy Suspension.New (old) has same clunk, just way less. It's in better shape than the one I took out. I haven't been able to find any specs for the pinion gears & LS unit, so I don't know what it should be? Different thickness thrust washers would be nice...

Hmmm

thanks!Lee
