My brother's 300ZX has been afflicted with a low oil pressure problem just recently. I went and checked the undercarriage and noticed the oil pan has three small dents you can see in the pictures below.

He has told me these dents have been there for as long as he can remember. Do you guys think it's worth going out and spending $200 on a new pan based on these dents?

I have seen them beat up a lot worse than that and it didn't affect the oil pressure!
It would be a waste of money IMO.

Don't buy a new oil pan. Just take the existing one out and tap it out from inside out.

You can also check behine the oil filter tee. If yours is na, it should have two ball bearing check valves tapped into the block. It is common for them to come out and cause low oil pressure.

Oh, and ofcourse, before you do that, make sure you are not running low on oil.

Are you basing the low pressure from the stock sensors, they are known to fail. I would replace the sensor, located next to the oil filter first.
