Hello ,
thank you for taking the time to read my post.I've always had a soft spot for 300 zx and i missed my old one so i purchased a project for after work enjoyment.Im diesel mechanic and I'm familiar with most auto repairs so i need help.This 90 300 zx was purchased in non running condition for few hundred bucks and i was told the ecu is no good.i was able to work on the car for 2 hours this weekend and was able to find /fix loose harness connection and redo the ground wires and check all fuses for bad ones.the factory alarm arms/disarms with the key i do have the led in the ecu light up so i believe its getting powered ,fiel pump primes the system ,the engine cranks but won't start.with ignition "on ' i have 12v on all injectors but there is no pulse while cranking .middle leg of the ignition coils dosent have 12v .ignition coil relay had good 12v power and if it had a ground thru the ecu could actually work

here is my biggest dilemma -all injectors get ground thru the ecu ,egi and ignition relays get ground thru the ecu as well so I'm thinking bad ecu.the little led inside lights up but while cracking the engine the light goes away.my multiple trys to get the ecu to do self diagnostics failed and i get no reps once what so ever just seady red light

Have you checked the CAS? Its the round piece that is on the front of the engine, driver side. You can physically take it out, turn the part going in the engine and should hear each injector click, make sure the key is to the on position. If the injectors don't click, make sure they are not gummed up and ohm correctly, between 10-14 ohms.

Do you have access to another ECU? Just reread your second paragraph, since it does not do self diagnostic, I would say it is bad. Where are you located? What year is your car? I do have an auto ecu from a 92 just lying around in my garage. It was left over when I did my tt/5 speed swap.

the vehicle is 90 with auto trans ,at this moment i don't have another ecu to test so I'm still looking around to find one .Im still not clear witch ecu will work on my car as i found they are 3 different ecu's used in 90 vehicles so i don't wanna purchase the wrong part.
if u think ur ecu will work on my ride I'm willing to buy it .as for the car sensor if the unit was bad and the ecu good i would had code ,but since the ecu won't self diagnose I'm thinking its bad

When an ECU doesn't diagnose, it is bad. I know it is an 8 bit and not the 16, I don't want to send you something that will not work with your car. I am hoping someone will chime in that knows.

The codes on the ecu is;

BH
A 18-A75 mb9 1Z07

Hope this helps
