I have a 1990 300zx na 2+2 and it's nice it sounds great but I've always wanted a hks exhaust but I've seen people do single exit hks and it sounds great to me I'm wondering if I were to purchase a y pipe
For my z would just any hks single exhaust bolt up
To the y pipe or would I have rig something up

you mean like go buy a y-pipe from autozone and rig up an exhaust from there? You do realize that exhausts on cars aren't one size fits all, everything is designed and made to fit a certain car.

No not at all there are companies that make you y pipes for the zs and I was wondering let's say if I would purchase a y pipe made for my car would a hKS pipe for a 240sx bolt up to the y pipe

no, with the setup you want being so rare your best bet is to source whatever muffler you want and have the rest built by a good exhaust shop with a mandrel bender.
